President Barack Obama will discuss U.S. national security this morning in a major speech at the National Archives.

Obama will talk about his vision for strengthening the country's security and outline steps his administration is taking to support those goals and principles.

The president also is expected to detail plans for the closure of the U.S. prison for terrorism suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

In the afternoon, Obama will welcome the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers to the White House. After brief remarks, he will assemble care packages for U.S. troops with the players and wounded service personnel.

Later, Obama will meet with the president of Tanzania in the Oval Office.
